Sephora Beauty Scholarship $7,500 [Requirements and Application Process]

It’s 2024, and newer and higher-paying beauty scholarships are being launched, including one from Sephora. So, today, we are going to talk about the Sephora Beauty Scholarship program. This scholarship is particularly for students of color, who are after licensed careers in beauty through professional education and training.

This Sephora program will last for 6 months, and you will get tuition for cosmetology and esthetician schools, along with an internship at Sephora. So, with the internship, you will enjoy real-world industry experience, mentorship, and opportunities for roles after graduation. After finishing the program, you will continue to get support through an alumni network and additional Sephora resources as a scholar.

Sephora Beauty Scholarship Requirements 2024

Let’s start with the requirements you must meet for this scholarship.

1. Every month, you’ll attend special sessions sponsored by Sephora. These sessions, focusing on educational topics for a beauty career and other beauty industry insights, will be hosted by top beauty brands, industry experts, and Sephora’s Pro Team. They are scheduled from April 2024 to September 2024, usually on Mondays. Recordings will be available after each session. The store management will determine the schedule and will try their best to accommodate your availability.
2. You must complete a 6-month paid internship at a Sephora store. This internship requires at least 4 hours in-store throughout its duration, from April 1, 2024, to September 30, 2024. Your in-store experience will include:
   • Assisting with daily store activities, such as maintaining hygiene and cleaning protocols, restocking products, participating in loss prevention and client sampling programs, and other necessary tasks.
   • Learning the operations of Sephora stores, particularly the Licensed Beauty Advisor role.
   • Receiving training in providing exceptional, personalized paid services, including product knowledge, applications, and conducting makeup and skincare lessons.
   • Understanding and embodying Sephora’s core values, including passion for client service, innovation, expertise, work-life balance, respect for all, teamwork, and initiative.
3. You must stay enrolled and maintain good standing in an eligible beauty, cosmetology, or esthetician school. If you are unable to complete your school program or fail to maintain good standing, Sephora may ask for reimbursement or withhold funds.
4. You are also expected to participate in Sephora’s beauty scholar community.

So, these are just basic requirements that any serious cosmetologist or esthetician can meet. You see, they are not difficult—it basically requires you to take the program seriously for the short duration. It’s for your own benefit after all.

Sephora Beauty Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

So, we’ve talked about the scholarship requirements. Let’s look at the eligibility criteria so you know whether you are qualified or not.

1. For the internship part of this program, you must be legally permitted to work in the United States and must be able to physically come to one of the participating Sephora locations (in your application, you’ll mention the store location nearest to you).
2. Applicants need to be enrolled in an accredited cosmetology and/or esthetician program located in one of the specified geographic areas. Your program should start between January 1, 2024, and April 1, 2024. Also, you must be at least 18 years old by January 1, 2024.
3. Applicants should have experience working with or supporting communities of color that are underrepresented. Or, you should identify as belonging to an underrepresented minority group. This includes but isn’t limited to, Black, African American, Hispanic/LatinX, Asian, or Native American/Indigenous groups.
4. Sephora Beauty Scholarship is need-based, so you must show that you need financial assistance. This means you must qualify for and be approved to receive financial aid from the school you are attending.
5. If you are currently working at Sephora or have worked there before, unfortunately, you cannot apply for this scholarship program.

How to Apply for Sephora Scholarship

Finally, we will talk about the simple application process you can follow to be called up for this program as well as receive the Sephora scholarship.

1. Go to the Sephora Application page.
2. Include your resume with your application. If you don’t have a resume, submit a document with your contact details and school history. Cover letters are optional.
3. If you meet the eligibility criteria and your application is complete, you’ll get an email about the final decision from Sephora.
4. You can send in your applications from January 1, 2024, until March 1, 2024.
5. The highest scholarship amount for each chosen applicant is $7,500.00.

The deadline for applications is March 1, 2024. After the deadline, Sephora will conduct interviews, and finalists will be informed by the end of March 2024.

If you are selected for Sephora interviews, you will receive a follow-up survey to provide additional information about your financial needs. I mentioned earlier that the highest amount you can get for the Sephora Beauty Scholarship is $7,500. So, if you owe $10,000 to your school, Sephora will pay $7,500. If your school balance is $4,500, Sephora pay the full $4,500.
