Pursuing a pilot career through NDA
A merit-based pathway to achieving one’s pilot dream is available through the National Defense Academy (NDA). To be eligible, a candidate must pass the NDA entrance exam and have completed Class XII in the science stream, with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as a language paper. Upon excelling in the entrance exam, the candidate will receive pilot training at the National Defense Academy, followed by specialized training at the Air Force Academy.
The training period spans three years, during which a candidate receives a stipend for living expenses. Upon completion, the candidate is commissioned as a Flying Officer and assigned to a pilot role at the Air Force Station.
