The Kebbi State Scholarship for the 2024/2025 academic session is now available. The Kebbi State Scholarship Board, under the Ministry for Higher Education, has officially opened applications for the 2024/2025 session. This scholarship aims to assist eligible students in funding their education. It is available to indigene students of Kebbi State.
The Board awards scholarships to qualified students in universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
Kebbi State Scholarship Board 2024/2025
This scholarship is open to Kebbi indigene students who are at different stages of their academic journey. Whether they are yet to receive their admission letter, currently enrolled or have completed their degree in tertiary institutions, they are eligible to apply.
The Kebbi State Scholarship Board generally offers Need-based scholarships, Merit-based scholarships, and Scholarships for students with physical disabilities. Students can apply for either local or foreign scholarship programmes.
Kebbi State Scholarship Requirements 2024/2025
To apply for the Kebbi State Scholarship 2024/2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be indigenes of Kebbi State.
- They must have a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
- Indigent students studying both within and outside Kebbi State are eligible to apply.
- Students must be registered as full-time students in government-approved public tertiary institutions.
- Fresh students must have at least 5 credits in Mathematics and English in WAEC or NECO.
- Undergraduate students must provide a valid admission letter.
- Shortlisted foreign scholarship applicants must undergo a drug test and submit a full medical certificate from a government hospital.
- Employed applicants must provide a reference letter from their employer, while unemployed applicants must submit a reference letter from their last institution.
- Postgraduate applicants for foreign scholarships must have a minimum CGPA of 4.0 on a 5.0 scale or 3.6 on a 4.0 scale for a master’s degree.
- PhD applicants must have a Master’s degree with merit.
- For need-based scholarships, a minimum CGPA of 2.0 on a 5.0 scale or 1.6 on a 4.0 scale is required.
- For merit-based scholarships, applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 4.0 on a 5.0 scale or 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Postgraduate applicants for local scholarships must have a CGPA of 4.0 on a 5.0 scale or 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
How to Apply for Kebbi State Scholarship 2024/2025
Interested applicants should visit the official Kebbi State Scholarship Board portal at https://kebbistate.gov.ng and click on Apply. Students must complete the application form with their personal and academic details and print the online acknowledgment slip.
Applicants can choose from local or foreign scholarships, which may be need-based, merit-based, or disability-based.
The completed application form must be submitted before the deadline stated in the advertisement on the Board portal. After the registration closes, the Board will carry out physical verification and shortlist successful candidates for the 2024 session.
Kebbi State Scholarship Disburses Money
The Kebbi State Scholarship Board will thoroughly review all submitted information and verify that students are still enrolled in their respective institutions. Once approved, the scholarship funds will be disbursed to the various tertiary institutions, either within or outside Nigeria, to cover the students’ tuition fees.
Successful candidates will receive their scholarship funds for the 2024/2025 academic session, depending on the type of scholarship they applied for.
